Two Winning Lottery Tickets Worth $200K, $10K Sold At Same Bergen County ShopRite
A Bergen County ShopRite sold two winning lottery tickets on back-to-back days, New Jersey Lottery officials said.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, a Mega Hot 7’s ticket worth $10,000 was sold at ShopRite #141, 250 River Road, New Milford, according to lottery officials.
The following day, Wednesday, Aug. 13, the same store sold a Cash 4-Ever ticket worth $200,000, officials said.
Both tickets were instant-win scratch-offs, and lottery officials said prizes should be claimed through the New Jersey Lottery.

Ridgewood police said they responded to 152 Kenilworth Road on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 1:45 p.m. for a report of an adult male who had fallen. The victim’s brother, Carlos Solis, identified him to Daily Voice as Heriberto Solís Fallas, 40, of Irvington.

Three men have been charged and are at large in connection with the shooting death of a 20-year-old in Millville, authorities said.
On Friday, Aug. 15, at approximately 6:53 p.m., Millville police responded to the area of High and Oak Streets for a report of a male with a gunshot wound to the head, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said. The victim, identified as Thomas Smith III was transported to a nearby hospital but was soon pronounced dead, Webb-McRae said.

Just before 4 a.m., troopers responded to the south outer roadway at milepost 84.6 in Edison, according to New Jersey State Police Sgt. Charles Marchan.
A GMC cargo van was traveling south on the outer roadway when a 39-year-old male from Bristol, PA, operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle, struck the GMC from behind, Marchan said.

Megan Corcoran, a Hawthorne native, died on Thursday, Aug. 14, according to her obituary on the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home website. She was 24 years old.
Megan graduated from Hawthorne High School in 2019 and went on to earn her bachelor's from Rowan University in 2024, her obituary says. She had been working as an admissions coordinator for the Recovery Centers of America in South Amboy, her obituary reads.

Two firefighters were injured battling a house fire in West Milford on Saturday, Aug. 16, officials said.
West Milford fire crews responded to a reported structure fire on Otterhole Road just before 10 a.m., where responders were met by heavy fire and smoke on the front of the home, the fire department said.
